The Digit-al Dozen Does Blue - Shiny!
This is our final day this month for The Digit-al Dozen Blue Week! And today I am featuring an Indie polish because it is also Thank Goodness,
Once in a while there comes a polish brand that just completely blows everything out of the water and becomes hot stuff! Case in point: Nerd Lacquer. Sadly she is not creating anymore but if she ever does, the heavens would rejoice! :)
This is one coat of Shiny. A gorgeous bright blue with silver glitters. This is one polish from the Serenity Trio (woot woot! Still Flying!). Serenity is my favorite movie and so I had to have this set and I am so glad I did as it is the only three Nerd Lacquers I own. As you can see, Shiny is a bit sheer for one coat.
Two coats and marvel at it! Such an icy blue! Speechless at this! I had no issues applying this polish! A dream, just like Captain Malcolm Reynolds of Serenity!
Another drool-worthy photo! A little blurry to show what? Yep, it's Shiny!
Bottle shot of this gorgeous polish!
Do you have the great privilege of owning a Nerd Lacquer? Is so, which one?

The Digit-al Dozen Does Blue - Flormar Grunge Tips
This is Day 4 of The Digit-al Dozen Blue Week! Today I decided to do a quick and easy mani. I call this the Grunge French Tip mani. It's super simple and really quite fun! :)
I applied OPI Pink-a-Doodle (what's this? Yep, my new go-to base for any french mani!). I then put some Flormar U08 on a paper plate and then dipped an eye shadow applicator in it and dabbed it onto my nails! The more you dab on the nails without re-wetting it with polish, then thinner and smokier it gets!
Simple huh! I think I'm going to have to try this with other colors and polishes!
I wanted the Flormar U08 to pop more so I am holding OPI Pink-a-Doodle which is the base for this mani. Flormar U08 is a gorgeous duochrome that changes blue to purple. I love it!
What do you think? Is the Grunge French Tip Mani your thing?

The Digit-al Dozen Does Blue - Jelly Sandwich
This is day 3 of The Digit-al Dozen Blue Week. Today is a Jelly Sandwich! Yes! I love these because they never get boring (in my opinion) because there are so many different colors to use!
I started our with Essence Let's Get Lost as my base. This is a beautiful light blue that applies like a dream. This is one coat! Look at the shine and the opacity! Gotta love Essence!
I then added the ever gorgeous Sonoma Nail Art 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. I love the Indie brand! This glitter is stunning and is made up of blue green and white glitters. Application was also very wonderful! :)
And what's a jelly sandwich without it's top layer? This is Sinful Colors Cinderella. A gorgeous blue with pink shimmer! And look there's a face on my index finger made out of the glitter! He's happy to be part of this mani! :)

The Digit-al Dozen Does Blue - Spazmatic Tips
Day two of The Digit-al Dozen Blue Week! Today I bring you a jeweled french tip mani! I did one of these a few weeks ago (using other colors) and loved how it turned out so I thought I would do it again!
I first started out by applying OPI Pink-a-Doodle (not pictured) as my base color. This is a perfect pink for french manis! I then applied Orly Sweet Peacock on my tips. Hmmm, a little uneven. But that's alright because the next step helps to camouflage that problem! :)
I sponged on Orly Spazmatic on my tips. This is a clear base blue hex glitter with blue micro glitter. Gorgeous! It is part of their Glam FX line that was released earlier this summer.
And next up I finished with Orly Prisma Gloss Silver for a bit of added dimension. I love how it turned out! I am quite fond of these funky french tips! They are easy and sophisticated! :)
My base coat for this mani? Good ol' Elmer's Glue. Yep, I really wanted to try and see if it works! Also, in this picture I have added HK Girl Top Coat.
** edit ** 4 days later **
Ok, so this is day 4 of this mani! Look how well the glue base held up, and the HK Girl top coat! This is even with a day of working truck at work! (unloading boxes and putting out inventory) Not too shabby!
And look it! All peeled off! Well, except for a few bits and pieces here and there. But all in all this worked fabulously! And took 5 minutes to do both hands! Sa-weet! I'm sold! I can't wait how satisfying it'll be on a full glitter mani! Oh, and I loved picking it all off! :)
Sadly I didn't have the big pieces like I have seen others peel off. But I think that is because it wasn't full on glitter. But oh well! Still awesome and amazing! :)

The Digit-al Dozen Does Blue - First Mate Stripes
Today is a special day! It is day one of a five day event with 12 wonderful ladies! The Digit-al Dozen! Each month we, The Digit-al Dozen, take five days and focus on a theme.
This week's theme? Blue. Blue anyway you like it! A free-for-all blue fest! So for today through Friday I will show you 5 blue manis! And I was able to use a lot of my untrieds too! Bonus! :)
Ready for today's blue mani?
Sadly, this is the only picture that worked! :( Sunny Arizona hasn't been all that fine and dandy and sunny. Hot, yes, but not always sunny (at least when I do my manis! Grrr!).
I got the idea of this mani from The Beauty Department
Obviously my french tip stickers are larger than theirs! Haha! But I still thought is was fun and simple! I used China Glaze First Mate and Zoya Sooki.
China Glaze First Mate applied wonderfully! This is two coats. Look at the gloss and shine! And I tend to use Zoya Sooki for all my red nail art. The only time I really do use red! :)

Thank Goodness, Indie Friday - Once Upon a Polish Under the Sea
Welcome to this week's episode of TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday! Today I am featuring Once Upon a Polish Under the Sea. I have used this polish in a few manis already but I thought I should introduce you to it properly! :)
Once Upon a Polish Under the Sea is a gorgeous polish made up of blue hex glitters and holo square glitters in a clear base. I love this polish, it is so bright and happy! :) Two coats on my index and middle fingers with one coat on ring and pinkie fingers.
Just add some full on sun and watch it shine away! Look at that! :)
Here is a skittle to show off Under the Sea. Starting with my thumb and working clockwise: OPI Wooden Shoe Like to Know?, Finger Paints Leonardo Da Vin-Pink, Essence Romeo, OPI Planks a Lot, and OPI Fiercely Fiona. This is one coat of Under the Sea on each nail.
Showing the skittle without the claw of all five fingers! :) I love how it pops off of the grey of Essence Romeo. Once Upon a Polish Under the Sea is really great to apply. Now, mind you, the holo squares are a bit sparse and sometimes don't like to play nicely but they do show up with a bit of help and dabbing! :) But no real major issues with this polish! All of Once Upon a Polish's polishes are fabulous and a dream or do I dare say it? A fairytale to apply! hahahahaha! Yep, I went there! :)
Show the bottle shot while showing off my thumb! It felt left out of the previous picture!
Macro bottle shot of Once Upon a Polish Under the Sea. Oh so purdy!
So, have you tried any of her polishes yet? If not, you really should! How do you find these amazing Indie polishes? Make sure you check out Once Upon a Polish's etsy page here and her facebook page here!
Also please don't forget to check out Emma over at Manicurity who is also doing TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indie Fridays with me! :)
