The Digit-al Dozen Does Blue - Jelly Sandwich

This is day 3 of The Digit-al Dozen Blue Week. Today is a Jelly Sandwich! Yes! I love these because they never get boring (in my opinion) because there are so many different colors to use!

I started our with Essence Let's Get Lost as my base. This is a beautiful light blue that applies like a dream. This is one coat! Look at the shine and the opacity! Gotta love Essence!

I then added the ever gorgeous Sonoma Nail Art 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. I love the Indie brand! This glitter is stunning and is made up of blue green and white glitters. Application was also very wonderful! :)

And what's a jelly sandwich without it's top layer? This is Sinful Colors Cinderella. A gorgeous blue with pink shimmer! And look there's a face on my index finger made out of the glitter! He's happy to be part of this mani! :)

Thank Goodness, Indie Friday - Once Upon a Polish Under the Sea

Welcome to this week's episode of TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday!  Today I am featuring Once Upon a Polish Under the Sea. I have used this polish in a few manis already but I thought I should introduce you to it properly! :)

Once Upon a Polish Under the Sea is a gorgeous polish made up of blue hex glitters and holo square glitters in a clear base. I love this polish, it is so bright and happy! :) Two coats on my index and middle fingers with one coat on ring and pinkie fingers.

Just add some full on sun and watch it shine away! Look at that! :)

Here is a skittle to show off Under the Sea. Starting with my thumb and working clockwise:  OPI Wooden Shoe Like to Know?, Finger Paints Leonardo Da Vin-Pink, Essence Romeo, OPI Planks a Lot, and OPI Fiercely Fiona. This is one coat of Under the Sea on each nail.

Showing the skittle without the claw of all five fingers! :) I love how it pops off of the grey of Essence Romeo. Once Upon a Polish Under the Sea is really great to apply. Now, mind you, the holo squares are a bit sparse and sometimes don't like to play nicely but they do show up with a bit of help and dabbing! :) But no real major issues with this polish! All of Once Upon a Polish's polishes are fabulous and a dream or do I dare say it? A fairytale to apply! hahahahaha! Yep, I went there! :)

Show the bottle shot while showing off my thumb! It felt left out of the previous picture!

Macro bottle shot of Once Upon a Polish Under the Sea. Oh so purdy!

So, have you tried any of her polishes yet? If not, you really should! How do you find these amazing Indie polishes? Make sure you check out Once Upon a Polish's etsy page here and her facebook page here!
Also please don't forget to check out Emma over at Manicurity who is also doing TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indie Fridays with me! :)

Oh and just for kicks and giggles here is a little background music for ya!

Teal Tuesdays - Ovarian Cancer Awareness

This week our tealicure is to support a good cause! It is to raise awareness for Ovarian Cancer. September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month with September 7th being National Wear Teal Day!

I decided to keep it simple and straight to the point! :) This is Essence Romeo and A England Saint George using the Bundle Monster BM321 plate. Isn't it perfect! Teal ribbons!

Here I tried my HK Girl topcoat that I talked about last week here. And you know what? No dragging or smearing of my stamped image! And look at that shine! Shiny sparkly teal ribbons! :) You can purchase HK Girl Top Coat at Glisten & Glow

The is a group called Teal Toes (facebook group here and website here) that talks about wearing teal in to raise awareness. The website states:
"Our mission is to raise awareness of ovarian cancer.
How?  By painting your toenails teal, the ovarian cancer color.  By getting your friends to paint their toenails teal too, and then by talking with people when they ask about it, to make sure that they know the signs of this whispering killer.
Any time of year is good for teal toes, but we especially recommend September, the ovarian cancer awareness month!"
Please spread the word by showing your teal! For more information please visit Teal Toes or Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

There are also some polish companies that are donating sales to Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Color Club has a set of polish, OCRF Polish, and they will donate 50% off the proceeds for an entire year! Please click the image below to be sent to the site!

Also, Diamond Cosmetics is donating a dollar for every kit sold! Please click image below to be sent to their site!

Such awesome deals and service! Please check them out and let's raise some awareness! Painting my toes teal tonight! :)

Don't forget to check out the other ladies that are showing support and awareness with their tealicures and our fancy links! :)

Red Carpet Lacquer Zoinks and Ruh-Roh Do Overs!

So I had a lot of comments asking to see the two Red Carpet Lacquer polishes over other colors. So I decided to do some do overs! I skittled them! This is Red Carpet Lacquer Zoinks (one coat) over Finger Paints Circus Peanuts, China Glaze Electric Beat, OPI Sparrow Me the Drama, Models Own Lemon Meringue, and Essence No More Drama.

I love it over all the different polish colors!

This is Red Carpet Lacquer Ruh Roh (one coat) over Finger Paints Circus Peanuts, China Glaze Electric Beat, OPI Sparrow Me the Drama, Models Own Lemon Meringue, and Essence No More Drama. I chose to keep the same polish colors because I figured they were a good array of colors! :)

Both of these glitters by Red Carpet Lacquer are amazing and easy to use. Their formulas are fantastic. Have you bought them yet? If so what colors do you like to combine them with?

* Oh and please excuse the claw of showing polish on all five fingers. I just can't do it gracefully. And while I was taking these pictures I had this running through my mind:

Love Yourself Mani: H&M Bambi On Ice

Talk about glitter that doesn't like to be photographed! :) Too shiny! Hahaha! But I love it! This is a Love Yourself Mani and I love this simple french tip mani with glitter accent nail! :)

I used this stinkin' adorable H&M Bambi polish On Ice, that I had someone get me a while back. I repeat, stinkin' cute! I so bought it for the bottle! But the polish is really nice too! Went one wonderfully! This is only one coat and look how opaque it is! Woot woot! It's like a cement color with a tinge of blue/green.

This picture is more true to life in color. Don't you just love the bottle!

I used Essence No More Drama for my tips and Sation Band Beauty for the accent nail.

Macro bottle shot of Sation Band Beauty. Such pretty glitters! :)

I really liked this mani and wanted to do something for me, that I enjoyed. This is part of the Love Yourself manis. For more information click on this picture or the one in my sidebar to be taken to the facebook group!

Teal Tuesdays - Jelly Sandwich

This week's tealicure is a Jelly Sandwich or Jelly Sammich. I love me some Jelly Sammiches! :) But alas the weather would not agree with me and so I had to do a very quick mani. :( So here we go again with another less than perfect mani.

It kinda went all gloopy! But other than that I like it! To me it looks like Certs breath mints! hahaha!

I used Color Club French Tip as my base with Essence Edward as the glitter (a greener teal in some lights) and Essie Marshmallow for the top! Marshmallow is a perfect topper for a Jelly Sammich! :) Actually that sort of sounds disgusting! hahahaha! :)

Teal Tuesdays was started because teal is unloved and needed its own day of celebration!
Teal is a medium to dark bluish green color of low saturation; a dark cyan.
Open to interpretation, anything green with a hint of blue or blue with a hint of green is welcome here!

Love Yourself Mani: Essence No More Drama and Barry M Foil Effects

So I decided to do a simple palette cleansing mani! :) I choose Essence No More Drama as my base and stamped with Barry M Foil Effects in Silver using Bundle Monster BM 314 plate. I love how it turned out! Simple and beautiful! :)

Here is Essence No More Drama. See that clearance orange there on the bottle? I got this polish for 49 cents! Best 49 cents ever spent! This polish is a dream! Applies evenly and smoothly.

Here it is again in direct sun. Such a gorgeous shade of light purple!

Another angle of the stamped and finished mani. I love how the Barry M Foil Effects seems to glow! Love!

I really liked this mani and wanted to do something for me, that I enjoyed. This is part of the Love Yourself manis. For more information click on this picture or the one in my sidebar to be taken to the facebook group!

Teal Tuesdays - CopyCat Mani

So this week we decided to make our tealicures a recreation of someone else's mani. I had a bit of a time trying to come up with some ideas, because this week has been kind of a crazy one (I've been spending as much time as I can with my new nephew) so I did my mani and it turned out alright in person but in photos it didn't end up like I wanted it to. But I still do like the main aspect of the mani. So I thought I would still use it!

This is suppose to be a straw splatter mani. Hahahahaha! The straws were not working for me today. And have you ever tried doing a straw splatter mani using teal! Big big mistake! Stains everywhere!!! Hahahaha!
I could use this as a when manis go horribly wrong! Haha! :) Can you tell I don't take my self so seriously! Every once in awhile we are allowed a less than perfect mani, right? ;)

So I used p2 Groovy as my base and "splattered" using KleanColor Metallic Aqua, Essence Bella, China Glaze Atlantis, and Joe Fresh Teal (he is the culprit to covering the other polishes!). I used OPI Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees Suede for my Tokidoki symbol.

Here are the polishes I used: OPI Suzy Skis in the Pyrenees Suede, Joe Fresh Teal, China Glaze Atlantis, Essence Bella, KleanColor Metallic Aqua, and p2 Groovy.

So my mani wasn't perfect but it was still fun and it was fun to create. I was also glad to learn a new trick creating the Tokidoki symbol. And I do love my Tokidoki symbol that I recreated! Have you guessed who's mani I chose?

Gnarly Gnails Tokidoki Tutorial! I love how her's turned out! And I love the Tokidoki symbol! :)

Here is a what p2 Groovy looked like before it got covered up (especially by Joe Fresh Teal!)

Vacation Haul!

So today I am going to show you what I bought while I was gone. Nothing too exotic and crazy! :)

First is my purchase from Sally's during the extra 50% off clearance sale. I got Seche Rebuild and Finger Paints Flip Flop Fuchsia for, ready for this? A whopping $3.38! Woot woot! Love sales!

This is China Glaze Kalahari Kiss and OPI My Pointe Exactly. China Glaze Kalahari Kiss is really the only one from the new On Safari collection that I had to have. The others are pretty but I needed this one! And OPI My Pointe Exactly is one that I have been wanting for a while too. A grey jelly! Yes please! :)

Yep! Two of the new plates from Essence! Loving the starburst on the first one and check out the owl on the second one! *so happy* :)

And yep again! The other two plates from Essence! Mushrooms and PacMan! *squee!* These are from the lovely Malinka from Nails by Malinka. She was so awesome to get these for me! It's so fun to meet people in polish groups that can help get you your lemmings from half-way across the world! Thank you so much Malinka! :)

Woot woot! Dollish Polish It's A Me Mario! This lovely polish comes from a swap with the lovely Elizabeth from Nailpolish is My Crack. She is such an amazing lady! Thank you so much! I love it!

Macro bottle shot of It's A Me Mario. Blue and red hex glitter with some stars! :)

And finally, this pretty fun package!

Red Carpet Lacquer Ruh Roh! and Zoinks! Emma from Manicurity showed me Ruh Roh! because she knows I am on the look out for brown glitter! :) And I love this one! So unique! And then I couldn't pass up Zoinks! because it's green and brown, uh my favorite colors!

Macro bottle shot of Ruh Roh!

Just a quick swatch of Red Carpet Lacquer Ruh Roh! on an index card to show you the colors! Brown and black! Super duper fun! Love it!
